So Shiok
Sunday, Aug 14, 2016 Singapore's first vending machine "cafe" VendCafe is still attracting curious crowds, almost a week after it opened at the void deck of an HDB block in Sengkang. When SoShiok visited the place between 1.30pm and 4pm on Friday (Aug 12), the 50 sq ft space was buzzing with about 50 people ranging from the elderly to pupils from the primary school nearby. Most of them were queuing for ready-to-eat hot meals by Chef In Box, which are dispensed from two of the six vending machines, despite a waiting time of an hour and a half.
We too got in line to get our hands on three dishes: Curry Chicken with Rice, Salted Egg Yolk Pasta with Shrimps and Braised Chicken in Duo Olive Pronto Sauce.
