A total of 180 cartons and 1,041 packets of duty-unpaid cigarettes were found in a Singapore-registered on Saturday (Sep 8) at Tuas Checkpoint.
In a Facebook post titled "Don’t drag your family into this!",the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) said the car was driven by a 35-year-old Singaporean man who was returning to Singapore with his wife and a seven-year-old son.
The items were hidden in various modified compartments of the car.
The case has since been referred to Singapore Customs and court proceedings are ongoing.
