Youth runs in front of oncoming car forcing driver to jam on brakes: 'I missed him by inches'

A youth dashed in front of an oncoming vehicle, narrowly avoiding an accident.

A Stomper shared with Stomp videos taken from her in-car camera of the incident that happened along Hougang Avenue 8 on Sunday (Oct 2) at 9.36am.

She said: "I drove past the traffic junction outside Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary along Hougang Avenue 8.

"I had a near-accident where one boy dashed across the road at a red man and the traffic was in my favour.

"I jammed on my brakes and missed the boy by inches.

"His friends then also crossed the road at a red man.

"I hope this video can be reported so that their schools/parents are aware of their recklessness.

"If I was not alert and quick to stop, the accident could have been fatal or he could have caused a chain collision."
