S'pore with torn shoes gets a new pair from teacher

Hanafi was wearing torn shoes as he could not afford new ones so his teacher, Mr Loy, got him some instead.

According to SGAG's Facebook page, the Secondary 2 student has been going through depression for more than a year. 

Mr Loy, found out about his problems and became his confidante.

Soon after, he saw Hanafi wearing torn shoes with holes and hence asked him, "Why?"

Hanafi told him that he could not afford new ones -- leading Mr Loy to ask Hanafi for his shoe size and purchase a pair of sleek black shoes for him. 

Mr Loy advised him to focus on his studies and be confident. He also hopes that the shoes will 'take him to new heights'.
