You may bring your e-scooter on board the MRT, but do you mind folding it up?

Stomper John saw a commuter with an e-scooter on board an MRT train yesterday (May 9) at around 10.30pm after boarding at Dhoby Ghaut MRT station.

Photos sent by the Stomper show the man standing in the MRT cabin with his personal mobility device (PMD) beside a grab pole.

In a telephone interview, the Stomper said that the e-scooter can be folded but the owner did not do so.

John also said that the train was relatively crowded at that time.

He alighted at Orchard MRT station and was not sure how long the e-scooter owner was on the train.

According to the LTA, personal mobility devices are allowed on the MRT but they must be folded at all times in MRT stations and on trains.

They also cannot exceed 120cm by 70cm by 40cm when folded
