The 17-year-old youth who fell to his death from the fourth storey linkway between Orchard Gateway and Orchard Central on Feb 24 has been identified as Jonathan Chow Hua Guang.
It is believed that the teenager had been trying to retrieve his phone from the parapet when he lost his balance and fell.
Tributes for the victim have been pouring in.
Sharing photos of Chow on Facebook, Lincoln Loko Isaa wrote: "So sad to hear the bad news this morning.. Jonathan Chow you will be missed but never forgotten. R.I.P brother."
According to The Straits Times, Jessica Jade Sukrom said that Chow was "an amazing person and I hope you're okay up there".
In addition, Jake Laing wrote that Chow took him in, fed him and lent him clothes when he "had nowhere to go".
"I cannot believe you're gone I really can't accept it," he wrote. "It's a hard thing to swallow for me man because we have a bag of memories together which I will never forget."
According to information from Chow's Facebook page, he was from Randwick Boys High School, a school in Australia's south-eastern New South Wales state.
