S'pore's first 'rage room' opens, lets you vent your frustration by demolishing unlimited objects for $220/hr

The Fragment Room, Singapore’s first ‘rage room’ has opened its door at 3 Balestier Rd. 

Here, customers can vent their frustrations by causing destruction to their hearts’ content.

For $38, customers can spend 30 minutes destroying a box of items, and for a cool $220, patrons can destroy a unlimited number of items within an hour, reports Shin Min Daily News via Lianhe Zaobao. 

Since it’s opening in February, The Fragment Room has seen smashing success and has become a hot topic among many netizens and websites. 

For patrons who want to unleash mayhem with a friend, The Fragment Room also offers a package, where two people can destroy two boxes of items in half an hour for $75. 

For safety reason, customers are required to put on helmets, coats, gloves and various other equipment. 

For those of you wondering, yes, baseball bats, hammers and even crowbars are provided to allow customers to enjoy the most of their time there. 

Customers can also choose the music playing in the background as they rain destruction on the objects within the room. 

The founder of the establishment, Mr Royce Tan said, during an interview that the idea of opening up The Fragment Room started when he was feeling stressed and discontented as he was not valued by his superiors. 

Royce quitted and came across videos of people smashing objects to vent their frustration. 

He discovered that this was a common practice overseas but was still relatively new to South East Asia, and thus decided to take a leap of faith. 

On a unrelated note, a readers of The Straits Times also suggested a ‘rage room’ where Singaporeans can vent their pent-up emotions.
