New Year revellers face human traffic jam after entry into Esplanade Station gets 'locked down'

Stomper C was trying to leave The Float at Marina Bay last night (Dec 31) when she got stuck in a human traffic jam at around 10.30pm.

She wanted to take the Circle Line from Esplanade to Bayfront but it was so congested that they had 'locked down' one of the entry routes into Esplanade Station.

Said the Stomper:

"I had to walk a long way to City Hall MRT Station and re-enter Esplanade Station via the Raffles City route instead.

"Everywhere was very congested with humans and the route to Esplanade itself was completely blocked with people standing and sitting around.

"People there were either 'camping' for the fireworks or trying to enter and leave the concert at The Float."

However, trains were running smoothly on every line, added C.
