A 27-year-old man allegedly forced a man to hand over his car keys at Block 201, Boon Lay Way, while brandishing a knife, only to lose control of the stolen vehicle, causing it to overturn.
The incident happened on Monday (May 8) at about 1am, and the man has since been arrested by the police for armed robbery -- at the site where the car turned turtle, reports Lianhe Wanbao.
It is understood that the man had struck the kerb, causing the car to flip onto a grass patch.
A eyewitness, Madam Wu, told reporters that she heard shouts and the sound of tyres squealing from her flat.
She spotted the car which had overturned when she looked down, while her husband called the police.
