AirAsia giving away $120,000 worth of vouchers? It's a scam

You know what they say about things that sound too good to be true: They probably are not real.

That saying also applies to this promotion scam that claimed AirAsia is giving away 240 shopping vouchers worth $500 each.

The scam, which has been circulating online, directs to a link (www.airasia.com-voucher4u.com) where participants are required to answer five questions in order to redeem the 'vouchers'.

The low-cost Malaysian airline clarified in a Facebook note yesterday (Mar 29) that the promotion is a scam "which uses the AirAsia brand without authorisation, to lure the public to participate in its scheme".

They said in the statement:

"We strongly advise the public to disregard such scams and not to click on any links or to provide any personal details. AirAsia shall not be held liable for any claims pertaining to the false scheme.

"All promotions by AirAsia are only through its official channels on airasia.com as well as other reliable and authorised channels, which the airline advertises in.

"We will not hesitate to take legal action against individuals or groups who organise illegal schemes using the AirAsia brand."
