Rather than enlisting the help of CCTV cameras or the authorities, a resident in Yishun decided that the best deterrent against thieves is to put up a warning sign.
Stomper JT saw the sign propped up on a potted plant at Block 268 Yishun Street 22 on Sunday (Aug 9) and submitted photos to Stomp.
JT, a resident in the vicinity, said: "Welcome to Yishun.
"Upon realising that someone was stealing flowers, the owner wrote and placed this sign beside the pot of flowers that got plucked."
A message on the sign says:
"Stop stealing things anymore. Stealing is not good. If you continue to steal, your hands will rot [and] die a terrible death. Die a terrible death."JT, who said that it was her first time noticing the sign, added: "I'm not really sure that this is the best approach to warn the thief not to do it again, especially since the block is just between two schools."
