A 27-year-old worker was apprehended after he was seen standing on a window ledge at The Leo dormitory in Kaki Bukit on Friday (July 31).

Stomper Dale shared a video of the incident, which shows the worker standing on the ledge while others attempted to pull him back inside.

A Facebook post that included a video and photos of the incident also made its rounds on social media.

In response to a Stomp query, the Ministry Of Manpower (MOM) said that they are aware of the incident at 25 Kaki Bukit Road 3 where a worker was found standing on a ledge.

"The dormitory operator and FAST team on site managed to calm the worker down and brought him back to safety. He is now in a safe and stable condition," said MOM in a statement.

The police confirmed with Stomp that they received a call for assistance at 25 Kaki Bukit Road 3 at 12.07am.

They added: "A 27-year-old man was apprehended under Section 7 of the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) Act."

In their statement, MOM also advised all workers "not to put themselves in harm’s way if they encounter problems".

"They can call the Migrant Workers’ 24-hour helpline at 6536 2692, or reach out to MOM via our feedback form (www.mom.gov.sg/efeedback) if they require assistance," said MOM.

"If they act rashly, it will make it more difficult for MOM to be able to assist them or to help solve their problems sooner."
