A woman is appealing for witnesses to a hit-and-run accident involving her car that was parked at Tampines Mall on Saturday (Apr 15).

Stomper Stella said she had parked her grey Volkswagen Jetta at the shopping mall's Basement 1 carpark at around 9.35am.

She recounted: "I parked my car, which has spider stickers, at Lot 280 and went to run errands with my daughter.

"When I returned to the carpark at around 1.10pm, I found that my car's front left corner had been hit by an unknown vehicle.

"My car's dashboard camera automatically shuts down when the engine is off so I did not capture the accident. I tried to find cars that were parked opposite my car but their dashboard cameras also automatically shut down when the engine is off.

"I went to look for the management of Tampines Mall to see whether they could show me their CCTV footage, but they told me I had to lodge a police report and only the police can view the footage. I have already lodged the police report."

Stella, who shared photos showing the damage on her car, believes that the culprit is a white vehicle as part of its bonnet was left behind at the scene.

She told Stomp: "The driver didn't pick up the bonnet and just ran away.

"I hope anyone who has captured the accident or witnessed what happened can come forward."
