New world record?

A train commuter was seen shaking her arms vigorously while wearing a whopping nine fitness trackers.

Stomper Bhupesh witnessed the amusing sight in between Canberra and Sembawang MRT stations on the North-South Line on Nov 9, at around 7.25am.

A video that he took shows a woman seated on a train and rocking her arms while wearing multiple fitness trackers on both wrists.

Bhupesh said: "I saw an uncle doing the same thing on a bus earlier this year and I got worried. I went to him and asked if he was okay. Turns out he was just trying to clock steps.

"I was amused but also shocked that people would go to such lengths.

"He only had one watch though. I think nine watches is a world record and should go into the Guinness World Records."

Clocking at least 5,000 steps a day with your fitness tracker earns you Healthpoints under the National Steps Challenge. These points can be used to redeem rewards such as supermarket and F&B vouchers.

This is not the first time people have been seen clocking steps with so much enthusiasm and... creativity.

In December 2022, a man on a train was spotted swinging his arm for 40 minutes from Tiong Bahru to Bedok to get his steps in.
