Finding it odd that 'ice cubes' in her Milo beverage did not melt even after sometime, a woman poured out the drink — and discovered a plastic lid inside.

Stomper Yana said she bought the drink as a takeaway order from McDonald's at Bugis Junction last Monday (Dec 23), at around 1.30pm.

She told Stomp: "I had clearly asked for no ice but when I returned to my workplace, I felt ice cubes inside the Milo drink.

"After a few minutes, I wondered why the ice wasn't melting.

"I went to the washroom and poured everything out from the cup, only to find this black cover inside. It appeared to be a lid from the Milo machine."

Yana informed McDonald's about the matter on Friday (Dec 27) when she finally had free time.

She added: "Do check your food and drinks after ordering and before leaving any place.

"As for me, I won't be ordering cup drinks anymore."

Responding to a Stomp query, a spokesman for McDonald's said it is aware of the incident and is in contact with the customer.

"Upon being alerted, our quality assurance team took immediate action with further investigation," added the spokesman.

"We would like to assure all our customers that food safety is of utmost importance to McDonald’s and we are committed to serving safe and quality food at all times."
