Some lessons are learnt the hard way, as a female pedestrian who jaywalked while distracted by her phone found out.
A video of the incident was posted on Facebook on Saturday (Apr 6), where it has since garnered over 188,000 views and more than 3,300 shares.
According to ROADS.sg, the accident occurred along Lavender Street on Friday (Apr 5), at around 3.12pm.
In the video, a woman can be seen running across the road with her mobile phone to her ear.
She appears to stop in her tracks before reaching the other side of the road, presumably having noticed the oncoming taxi.
However, it is too late as she gets hit by the taxi.
The cabby then exits his vehicle to check on the woman, before gathering her belongings and helping her up. He also walks her across the road.
It is unclear if the woman was injured, but Stomp understands that the police and Singapore Civil Defence Force did not respond to any incident at the aforementioned location and time.
