Woman in critical condition after getting hit by bus at Woodlands, family looking for witnesses

A woman suffered serious injuries on her head after getting hit by a bus at a traffic junction, and the family of the victim is looking for witnesses to the accident. 

The incident happened at a traffic junction between Woodlands Avenue 2 and Avenue 7, on Thursday (March 8) between 7.40pm and 8pm. 

An appeal for witnesses was placed up on Facebook and several Stomper alerted Stomp to the post. 

Facebook user Chen Chen, a colleague of the victim, wrote in the post:

“The girl is still lying in the intensive care unit (ICU). The family has already cried and cried.

“If you have information, please contact the number above. Thank you very much.”

According to Lianhe Wanbao, the 24-year-old victim, Gao Meiling was taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital after the accident. 

She is in a critical condition and doctors have warned her sister, Ms Wang, about the unfavorable prognosis.

Even if Ms Gao survives, she could be stuck in a vegetative state, having to rely on life support and medication for survival. 

Ms Gao who came from the province of Liaoning in China, worked as a factory worker in Singapore.

She has held the job for four years but was not working on the day of the incident.  

Ms Wang told Lianhe Wanbao that a passerby had called her at around 7.40pm during the day of the incident.

She was told that her sister had been in an accident. 

As her home was closer to the hospital, she went over to the hospital directly.

At this point, Ms Gao was already unconscious.

She has yet to awaken after a major brain surgery. 

Ms Wang said:

“Despite everything, I believe that a miracle will happen, and my sister will wake up.”
