Stomper Jessica was frustrated when the GrabShare driver she booked a ride with on June 15 allegedly drove around Yishun in order to look for another rider.

She had booked the ride from Woodlands to go to Changi Airport to pick up a friend.

"I was not in a rush so I decided to use GrabShare," said Jessica.

GrabShare is a service by Grab that allows riders to carpool in a car or taxi with another rider heading in the same direction.

By doing this they can save up to 30% on their fare.

Although Jessica was prepared for her trip to take a little longer if she ended up sharing her ride with someone, she did not expect to be in for such a long journey.

"I boarded the car at Woodlands at 9.20pm.

"Instead of directly heading to the Seletar Expressway (SLE), the driver took me to go around Yishun to look for another rider to share the ride with me.

"He did not even tell me that he was going to do that.

"When I questioned the driver, he replied that it is hard to look for another rider when he goes onto the expressway.

"I was speechless.

"Yes, I know I am taking GrabShare but shouldn't he be picking up another rider along the way and not especially go around looking for one?

"It was a total waste of my time.

"We spent 15 minutes in Yishun.

"I didn't talk to the driver anymore as I didn't know what he would do.

"My life was in his hands as he was driving but I am totally disappointed with this.

"I hope this will serve as a warning to people who use GrabShare and I hope Grab will educate their drivers on this.

Jessica ended up reaching the airport after 10pm when the ride should have taken less than half an hour.

She has since made a complaint to Grab.
