Woman, 34, arrested for attempted suicide and causing hurt to police officer at Marine Terrace

A 34-year-old woman was arrested for attempted suicide and also causing hurt to deter a police officer from duty at Block 15 Marine Terrace on Sunday afternoon (Dec 29).

Stomper Yan Long alerted Stomp to the incident and shared photos and videos he took at the scene.

In a video, Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) officers are seen setting up a life pack at the foot of the block.

Yan Long said he saw police officers cordoning off the area.

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the case of attempted suicide at 2.37pm.

"A 34-year-old female was arrested in relation to the case and for voluntarily causing hurt to deter a public servant from duty," a police spokesman said.

"She was subsequently conveyed conscious to Changi General Hospital." 

Police investigations are ongoing.
