Where is this oily brown substance at Fernvale canal coming from?

Stomper Tracy came across an unusual sight in a canal at Fernvale yesterday (Jul 23).

Photos the Stomper took show brown liquid with patches of green in the huge drain.

In a telephone interview, the Stomper described the unknown substance to be oily.

She said that this is the first time she has witnessed this and is perplexed at how this happened.

Tracy is unsure if there is any construction work going on nearby and believes that the canal is mostly surrounded by residential buildings
