Inspired by the 2012 event, whereby 40 Burmese Rohingya asylum seekers arrived in the port of Singapore, this short film titled 'Dahdi (Granny)' by Kristen Tan depicts a typical life of an elderly widow residing in Ubin.
One night, during dinner, the old woman finds an unexpected visitor snooping around her kitchen.
The uninvited guest turns out to be a young Burmese asylum-seeking girl, and the police are on a hunt for these refugees.
