What? $71 Grab fare from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal to Marsiling

$71 can see most of us through several meals and public transport rides, with some change left over.

For Stomper Desmond, however, it was the amount that he paid for a single trip from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal to 6 Marsiling Drive.

He said that he took the regular Grab ride on May 31, a weekday afternoon when it was non-peak hours.

Although he was given the upfront fare, he did not notice the exact amount and hence booked the ride, which took about half an hour.

Said the Stomper:

"How were the charges calculated?

"This is the highest price I have ever paid in my life for transport in Singapore."
