The West Coast Town Council has deployed a pest control operator to kill bees found inside a lamp post at Teban Gardens after a Stomper alerted them to it.

Stomper Richard informed Stomp of bees that had apparently built a nest inside the lamp post behind Block 41 Teban Gardens Road.

He first noticed the bees on Apr 24 and said after informing the town council, the bees were still there two days later.

"I am concerned because this park is utilised by the young and old," he said.

In response to a Stomp media query, the town council issued the following statement:

"Following resident's feedback, we have deployed our pest control operator to exterminate the bees inside the lamppost, behind Blk 41 Teban Gardens Road.

"Thank you for reaching out to us.

"We would like to request our residents with maintenance query or feedback to contact us directly at either of the following numbers so that they can be promptly looked into:

"Clementi office: 6776 0271 or email wctccl@wctc.org.sg

"Boon Lay office: 6896 4890 or email wctcbl@wctc.org.sg"
