Water gushes from ceiling at Plaza Singapura due to pipe leak

A pipe leak caused water to gush from the ceiling at the Basement 1 level of Plaza Singapura on Friday afternoon (May 10).

Stompers S Chen and C alerted Stomp to the incident and shared videos taken at the mall just outside fast food restaurant MOS Burger.

"I was at Plaza Singapura's Basement 1 when I saw water gushing from the ceiling at about 3.45pm," said S Chen.

In one of the clips, a woman is seen slipping and almost falling as she steps into a puddle of water caused by the leak.

In response to a Stomp media query, Ms June Ang, General Manager of Plaza Singapura said they were alerted to water leaking from a pipe at Basement 1 at about 4pm.

"The affected area was immediately cordoned off for cleaning," she said.

"Staff was stationed onsite to provide assistance where required.

"Tenants were not affected and remained open for business.

"After the cleanup, the situation on site is back to normal."
