A group of volunteers rallied to put together 200 food packs for our frontline heroes amidst the spread of the coronavirus, or Covid-19.

One of the volunteers told Stomp that Jurong Spring IRCC had started the Project Supper initiative to thank healthcare workers on the night shift at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFH).

"We wanted to express our heartfelt gratitude and respect towards the unnoticed night-shift healthcare workers for their hard work and dedication towards the community," she said.

"We started planning this in February and wrote to NTFH for permission and approval.

"Due to the Covid-19 situation, we also tried to keep the group small.

"All packing was done by six volunteers from Jurong Spring IRCC and Jurong Spring WEC at the Jurong Spring Community Club temporary office.

"The delivery of the packs was done by Jurong Spring IRCC Chairman Mr Peter Ang and his team of four people, together with our advisor MP Desmond Lee on Sunday (Mar 22)."

The Jurong GRC MP also expressed his appreciation for the healthcare workers in a post on his Facebook page.
