Visitors horrified after witnessing live donkey being fed to tigers at Chinese zoo

Watching animal feedings at a zoo are common but usually, animals are fed slabs of meat, not live prey.

Visitors to the Yancheng Wild Animal World in Chanzhou, Jiangsu province, China were horrified when they witnessed tigers attacking and feeding on a live donkey.

The poor donkey was pushed off of the back of a truck into a moat surrounding the tiger enclosure in the park.

The hungry tigers promptly swam out to start their attack.

According to Shanghaiist, the tigers took about 30 minutes to kill the donkey, which probably felt like forever for onlookers.

Regarding the shocking incident, a zoo worker told reporters that it was the result of "internal contradictions" among shareholders.
