Videos of kinky snakes seeking thrill in Myanmar monastery go viral

Two snakes were filmed in a public display of affection at a monastery compound in Daik-U, Myanmar, and the video has since gone viral, garnering over two million views since it was posted on Facebook on Monday (July 10).

In the video, some men, including monastery monks could be seen observing the two snakes winding their bodies around each other in a tender embrace.

One man awkwardly pointed out:

“Look, they’re mating.”

A monk quickly intervened, coaxing the two serpentine lovers into a basket.

The two were subsequently released into the wild.

A second video was also posted on Facebook, gathering 513,000 views.

In this video, a woman could be heard saying, 'this is scary!'

According to Coconuts Yangon, the snakes’ appearances seemed to match those of Banded Kraits, a species of venomous snake commonly found in Southeast Asia and India.

Their venom can cause nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, and dizziness in the victims, although the mortality is fairly low, between one and ten per cent, as these snakes do not inject a lot of venom when they bite in self-defence.

However, in this case, the snakes seemed too preoccupied to bite.
