Video: 4 Malaysian para cyclists injured in hit-and-run accident

A group of cyclists from the Malaysian para-cycling squad were injured in a suspected hit-and-run accident yesterday (Sep 7) at 10.45am.

The team was training for the upcoming Asean ParaGames when a black Toyota Hilux pickup truck allegedly struck the cyclists down on the KL-Kuala Selangor Expressway (LATAR) near Templer and fled the scene, reports The New Straits Times.

Four of the cyclists were injured from the incident.

Pilot tandem Nor Rizuan Zainal, 31, came off the worst with suspected spinal injuries.

His teammate, stoker tandem Khairul Azwan Wahab, 25, suffered multiple fractures.

Two other cyclists, Khairul Nizam Mohd Ali, 23, and Nur Syafiq, 19, were also rushed to the Sungei Buloh Hospital for treatment.

Khairul Nizam and Khairul Azwan are blind.

All four cyclists sustained broken limbs after the accident.
