A vegetable seller in China ran away from the city she worked after finding a bag containing 330,000 yuan (SGD$67,172) in the street, according to Chinese news reports.

CCTV footage allowed police to identify the woman and trace her to her hometown a week later.

The boss of a logistics firm was riding an electric bike when the bag dropped form the back seat, reports South China Morning Post.

The vegetable seller rode past the bag on a motorcycle about a minute after the snakeskin bag was dropped, and picked it up.

However, the woman fled to her home town in a neighbouring province the same day instead of handing the bag to th police.

The woman told police officers who showed up at her home that she would have returned the bag if she had known the owner was looking for the money.
