Van 'wobbles' and reverses after crashing in Mandai, driver arrested for suspected drink-driving

A van driver was arrested for suspected drink-driving after crashing into a road sign in Mandai last Friday night (June 29).

Stomper Ah Boy alerted Stomp to a circulated video of the accident.

In the video, the van can be seen whizzing into Mandai Road from the Bukit Timah Expressway, then crashing into the road sign.

The van then mounted the kerb and wobbled, before the driver reversed in a trail of smoke and seemingly appeared to drive off.

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to an accident involving a van along Mandai Road, towards Mandai Avenue, at 10.43pm.

A 46-year-old man was arrested for suspected drink-driving.

Police investigations are ongoing.
