A van driver was caught on video driving through a carpark exit and knocking a gantry arm onto the ground in Choa Chu Kang on Thursday morning (Oct 24).

Stomper Bruce alerted Stomp to the incident and shared footage taken from his in-car camera at about 8.15am.

In the video, the van with licence plate number BNA2593 is seen following a black car exiting the carpark from Block 689 Choa Chu Kang Crescent.

The front of his vehicle manages to get through the gantry before the arm comes down on top of the van.

The van does not stop moving which causes the arm to fall to the ground.

"I believe the Malaysia-registered van was trying to tailgate the car out of the carpark," said Bruce.

"After he knocked off the gantry arm, he didn't stop but just continued driving.

"I later reported the broken gantry arm to the town council."
