Tibetans upset by photos of woman posing nude by sacred lake

Controversial images of a woman posing nude beside a sacred lake in Tibet have upset Tibetan netizens.

According to Shanghaiist, Weibo user YouchumDolkar shared these photos on her account on Monday (April 11).

The photos are of a young woman posing near the Yamdrok Lake, one of three holy lakes in Tibet.

In the text of the original post, the photographer said that the model was having a great time in Tibet and wanted to leave memories behind at the holy location.

However, Weibo user YouchumDolkar condemned the woman for disrespecting Tibetan culture:

"An amazing photographer plus an amazing model reveal that they have no basic cultural or moral understanding," she wrote.

Other netizens chimed in with the following comments:

"How could you bring such filth to a sacred place like that? Shame on you!"

"The world would be better if there were less people like this."

However, there were also netizens who did not seem to have as much of a problem with the scantily-clad model:

"Are you not born naked? Do animals wear any clothes? Are they also disrespecting your holy sites?"

"She has a great body, are there any more pictures?"
