Police arrest 63-year-old Camry driver caught on video slamming into motorcycle on AYE

The police have arrested a 63-year-old man filmed knocking down a motorcycle along the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) on Wednesday (June 15).

Stomper Is starz had previously contributed a video of the incident to Stomp, and said his friend was the rider who appeared to be knocked down by the Camry in the video.

A police spokesperson said the Camry driver has been arrested for committing a rash act causing hurt.

The arrest was understood to have been made last Friday (June 17), following investigations by the Traffic Police into the June 15 incident.

The clip shows the Toyota Camry braking repeatedly and slowing down on the middle lane of the expressway.

When a motorcycle pulls up on its right side, the Camry then made a move towards it but stopped just before hitting it, causing the biker and his pillion rider to both look up towards the car.

Seconds later, the Camry again moved towards the motorcycle and this time slammed into it, knocking both the motorcyclist and the pillion rider onto the road before speeding away.

Chinese evening daily Lianhe Wanbao reported that according to one netizen, the car had begun playing the "braking game" (hitting the brakes repeatedly) from Clementi Avenue 6.

The same vehicle had previously been filmed recklessly switching lanes and intentionally braking while driving on an expressway.

Both the motorcyclist and the pillion rider had sustained injuries and went to the National University Hospital for treatment before lodging a police report.
