More than 1.4kg of drugs seized from Malaysian female motorcyclist at Woodlands Checkpoint

More than 1.4kg of drugs were seized from a Malaysian female motorcyclist at the Woodlands Checkpoint on Saturday (Dec 19).

An officer from the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) directed the Malaysia-registered motorcycle for routine checks at about 4.20pm.

The officer found about 470g of heroin and 980g of cannabis inside the backpack of the lone motorcyclist, said a joint press release from ICA and the Central Narcotics Bureau on Sunday (Dec 20).

The haul of drugs is estimated to be worth $65,000.

The 23-year-old female was referred to the CNB for further investigations.
