A man was surprised to see TikTok star Uncle Raymond dancing and recording videos in front of Plaza Singapura on Saturday (Jan 28) at about 2.45pm.

Stomper Mike told Stomp that he had seen videos of him dancing at Paya Lebar Square and Tampines and did not expect to see him at Plaza Singapura as well.

"I asked Raymond's permission to shoot a video and he said OK," he said.

Uncle Raymond (@raymondl88), whose real name is Raymond Lin, shot to fame last year after posting videos on TikTok and is known for dancing energetically at public locations like Orchard Road and other heartland shopping malls.

He is often joined by strangers who follow Uncle Raymond's moves and has become a national treasure.

He now has over 92,000 followers on TikTok.

Stomper Mike said: "This man has a passion in what he does and wants to ignite and spread the joy of simple dancing in short steps to Singaporeans.

"It would be ideal if Raymond could teach seniors, especially with the announcement of the Live Well, Age Well programme, to engage older people as they age and live longer."
