After a sweltering few months, wet weather has recently cooled things down a little.

Large tree branches fell after a heavy downpour in Sembawang on Monday afternoon (Sept 5).

Stomper Advin shared a photo taken at Block 313 Sembawang Close at around 12.10pm and said: "Madness in the north!"

In response to a Stomp query, a spokesman for Sembawang Town Council said: "The tree branches fell following a heavy downpour in the afternoon due to strong winds. The trees were assessed to be healthy during the last six-month inspection by our arborists. Fortunately, no one was hurt by the incident.

"The fallen tree branches were cleared on Monday in the late afternoon. The remains of the broken tree trunks were also removed the next day (Sept 6). We will continue to inspect our trees regularly."

According to the Meteorological Service Singapore, rainy weather is forecast to continue into the first half of September. Expect it to be "wet with a few warm days".
