TP officer skids on oil along Clementi Rd, crashes into barriers

A photo of a Traffic Police (TP) officer sitting on a road after knocking into some barricades, has been circulating online.

Stomper Cheers Tea and Hadi alerted Stomp to the photo.

According to The Straits Times, the officer in question was riding along Clementi Road towards Upper Bukit Timah Road on Wednesday afternoon (Nov 8) when he reportedly skidded due to an oil spill on the road.

Police investigations are ongoing.

In response to media queries, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that it received a call on the accident at 12.17pm and an ambulance was dispatched.

The officer suffered minor injuries and refused conveyance to a hospital.

SCDF subsequently deployed a fire engine to clear the oil leaks.

The oil was cleared using a hose and chemical solvents.

When asked how he felt about the incident, Hadi said:

“I’m with the embassy and I work together with TP officers sometimes.

“It’s quite bad to see an officer injured while carrying his duty.”
