Déjà vu?

A Toyota Wish owner allegedly used a safety cone with a number scrawled on it to reserve a parking space in a Bedok private estate.

Stomper David shared photos of the cone at Jalan Bangsawan and said the number is the house number of the Toyota Wish driver.

“The owner of the house is perpetually reserving the road space in front of his house for the sole purpose of parking his car, thereby depriving others the right to do so,” alleged the Stomper.

“Either his car is parked or his cone marked with his house number is placed at the particular spot as illustrated in the photographs.”

Previously, Stomp reported another car owner using a safety cone with the Land Transport Authority logo to "chope" a parking space on the same road.

"I hope Stomp is able to discourage this inconsiderate behaviour," said the Stomper. "Thank you."

Private estate residents using various items to reserve parking spaces has been an ongoing issue in Singapore.

In response to a Stomp query on a previous incident, LTA said: "For such issues within the private estates, the LTA adopts a community approach towards resolving them by advising residents to ensure that their objects do not pose a safety hazard or an obstruction to other users.

"In cases where a community approach fails, or if there are immediate safety concerns caused by the obstruction, LTA will take the necessary enforcement action."
