Town council to provide more large bins after Choa Chu Kang resident's feedback

Responding to Stomp's query regarding improper rubbish disposal at a Choa Chu Kang block, a town council spokesman said that steps will be taken to improve the situation

A Stomper who lives in Choa Chu Kang Avenue 7 reported rubbish being disposed along common corridors and rubbish chutes have been choked.

As a result of this situation, he said: "Pest infestation is getting worse."

Chua Chu Kang Town Council (CCKTC) said in a statement to Stomp on Friday (June 21):

"CCKTC is aware of the situation and has been working to address and resolve the issue amicably by educating the residents and will resort to enforcement actions as appropriate.

"We are in progress of providing additional large bins for the residents to dispose trash that cannot fit into the bin hoppers.

"Most importantly, we need to seek the cooperation and commitment of the residents in the block to deposit their unwanted items into the right place so that everyone can enjoy the clean environment in the block.

"We regret any inconvenience caused to the affected residents and will continue to monitor the area closely.

"We also urged residents to report cases of illegal dumping and misuse of the refuse chutes to the town council by calling 6569-0388 or e-mailing info@ccktc.org.sg."
