Tanjong Pagar Town Council has removed the boxes and rubbish that were cluttering the refuse chute area at Block 6 Kim Tian Road.

Stomper Georgina was frustrated when she saw that boxes were haphazardly tossed on the ground on Wednesday (Oct 28) and shared photos with Stomp.

Photos show boxes, among other trash like paper bags, empty juice cartons and even a pizza box, on the ground.

"This is the ugly scene of a rubbish dump near the refuse chute area that has been happening for a while now," Georgina said.

"It doesn't make sense to toss the boxes and trash there when you can just throw the rubbish away on the ground floor.

"Sometimes, boxes are dumped there when it's raining and I'm worried that rain water will be collected in the boxes which might lead to mosquitos breeding.

"I hope action will be taken so we will all have a clean environment to live in."

In response to a Stomp query, a spokesman for Tanjong Pagar Town Council said that they have removed the boxes at the refuse chute area on the tenth level.

"We will also be serving an advisory notice to the block to encourage social responsibility," added the spokesman.
