Tipper truck engulfed in flames on AYE

A tipper truck caught fire along the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AY)E on Thursday (June 24).

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told Stomp that it was alerted to the fire on the AYE towards Tuas, after the Clementi Road exit, at around 11.30am.

The fire involved the truck's engine compartment and was extinguished by SCDF using one water jet.

There were no reported injuries.

Stomper Ambrose, who shared a photo of the scene, said the truck had burst into huge flames.

In videos submitted by Stomper Angela, a thick plume of smoke can be seen billowing from the burning vehicle before the fire was extinguished.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
