Ever wondered how molluscs like snails reproduce? This video taken by Stomper Lau Lup might provide some insight.

Lau Lup came across two snails mating on a tree in Hougang after the rain yesterday morning (July 11).

He joked:

"Obscene act caught on camera!

"These two snails were seen making love in broad daylight after the rain today on a tree beside a Hougang bus stop.

"This is my first time seeing them do something like this. Hence, I sent the video to my expert friend for confirmation."

According to online reports, the mating process of garden snails takes four to 12 hours, and eggs can hatch in two weeks.

However, being hermaphroditic (meaning they have both male and female reproductive organs), snails are capable of laying their own eggs and self-fertilising them.
