Teens aged 16 and 18 arrested for allegedly snatching woman's purse at Ghim Moh Link

Two teenagers aged 16 and 18 were arrested along Ghim Moh Road for a case of snatch theft with common intentionĀ on May 9 at 7.59pm.

On the same day, a 42-year-old woman reported that her purse was snatched away by two teenagers at a staircase along Ghim Moh Link.

Extensive ground enquiries and follow-up investigations conducted by the Clementi Police Division resulted in the arrests.

Cash amounting to S$25.40, an iPhone 8, and a purse were recovered from them.

The two teenagers will be charged in court today (May 11) with snatch theft with common intention under Section 356 read with Section 34 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224.

If convicted, they will face a jail term of at least one year and not exceeding seven years, and shall also be liable to caning.
