Taxi catches fire at Sin Ming Avenue

A ComfortDelGro taxi caught fire at the junction of Bright Hill Road and Sin Ming Avenue on Friday morning (Dec 6).

Stomper Jeri alerted Stomp to the incident and shared photos he took while driving past the smouldering vehicle.

Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and police officers were at the scene, standing near the blackened cab.

In response to a Stomp query, the SCDF said they responded to the fire at 9.10am.

"The fire, involving the engine compartment of a vehicle, was extinguished by the SCDF using one water jet," an SCDF spokesman said.

There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
