Taxi catches fire along Serangoon Road

A taxi caught fire at the junction of Serangoon Road and Kitchener Link on Thursday morning (Apr 22).

A Stomper alerted Stomp to the incident and shared a photo he took of the burning vehicle.

In the photo, a fire engine and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) officers are at the scene.

In response to a Stomp query, the SCDF said they were alerted to the fire at 10.25am.

"The fire involved the engine compartment of a car," an SCDF spokesman said.

"SCDF extinguished the fire using a water jet."

There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
