Beware of voyeurs when taking the MRT.

A man was caught on camera using his phone to take photos of female passengers on the train last week.

Stomper Lee shared the photos he took of the man.

"I would like to spread awareness to MRT passengers of those who secretly took photos of ladies for their own pleasure," said the Stomper.

"I managed to take a sneak peek of the abundance of his 'catch' in his phone gallery, but I couldn't take a photo of it in time.

"I did not report the man to the police, but I informed the lady whom the man took photos of to go to the police."

It does not just happen on the train.

On May 17, the police were alerted at about 6.20pm to a man allegedly taking an upskirt video of a female victim on the escalator at City Hall MRT station.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from CCTV cameras, officers from Public Transport Security Command and Central Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on the same day.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the 22-year-old man is purportedly involved in other similar cases of voyeurism.

Police investigations are ongoing.

The offence of voyeurism carries an imprisonment term which may extend to two years, a fine, caning, or any combinations of such punishments.
