Stomper shares pics of workers using ladder near edge of Tampines HDB rooftop, MOM investigating

The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) is investigating an incident where workers were seen using a ladder near the edge of the rooftop of Block 876 Tampines Street 84.

Stomper Maverick, who resides in a 12th-floor unit at Block 874 Tampines Street 84, contributed photos of what he saw at about 5pm on Saturday (Nov 9).

He told Stomp: "I live opposite Block 876 and was looking out of a window from my bedroom when I saw these workers on the rooftop.

"I saw one of them supporting the ladder and the other was trying to strip something off the roof. 

"The worker could've fallen if he lost his balance!

"I also saw one of them sitting on the edge of the roof.

"There should be alternative methods to do these rooftop works. They're compromising their safety."

In response to a Stomp query, a MOM spokesperson said: "MOM is aware of the incident and is investigating."
