He said: "The video was filmed during the Singapore National Day Preview Parade.

"I was born and raised in Singapore, and this song is inspired by looking to the past, to identify ourselves and looking within ourselves. To look towards the future and to have a commitment towards a common purpose, to define ourselves as Singaporeans."

Dennis has also made a parody video titled "National Day (Singapore Geylang Serai Version) Music Video", featuring his daughter.
