Stomper 'sad and angry' after being charged $5.50 for nasi padang: 'I'd rather eat McDonald's meal'

Yet another person has expressed incredulity at being charged what he believes is too much for a plate of nasi padang.

This time, Stomper SL was charged $5.50 for rice with a piece of chicken and a side of bean sprouts at a Malay food stall at Block 27 Jalan Besar.

He said the chicken was just "5cm by 5cm".

"I felt so sad and angry when I asked the stall how much," he said.

"If I were to know this was the price, I would rather eat a simple McDonald's set meal including a burger, fries and a drink."

SL is not the first person to express shock at being 'overcharged' for nasi padang with some other Stompers being charged:

• $15.50 for nasi padang with beef rendang, tripe, vegetables and egg

• $11.70 for nasi padang with beef lung, mutton and fried potato

• $9.50 for nasi padang with fish sambal, cockles and beansprouts

However one stall took the cake by charging $24 for nasi padang with fish roe, tofu and sambal goreng.
