An elderly man was taken to hospital after a fall in Toa Payoh on Monday (Mar 6).

Stomper Kohji saw the man tripping and falling down on a pavement along Lorong 5 Toa Payoh at around 11.15am and immediately went forward to help.

Kohji recounted: "I was on the way home when I witnessed the man tripping and falling frontward. I went to check on him and asked if he could feel any pain, was having giddiness, if he was able to stand up by himself and also for his particulars.

"Then I called for an ambulance to assist him. While waiting with him for the ambulance, I kept asking him questions and comforting him. I told him to stay calm and that everything would be fine.

"At times, he would try and struggle to get up but I asked him to remain in the same position in case he had any fractures.

"After the paramedics arrived, I gave them all the information that I had such as the man's name and address, his condition and how he is staying alone.

"The paramedics accessed him from there and he was sent to the hospital in the ambulance for further checks."

Kohji also shared videos of paramedics attending to the man, who can be seen lying facedown on the ground.

In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it received a call for assistance near 743 Lorong 5 Toa Payoh at about 11.15am and took one person to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
